Tanknology has combined technologies specifically for the Alberta upstream oil industry that enable us to provide conclusive results on the entire tank system in less than thirty minutes. Using the VACUTECT probe to measure for slight changes in the liquid level at the tank bottom, overcomes the major weaknesses of competitor's test systems that rely on sound alone. Our extensive field experience has proven that it is virtually impossible to remove the last centimeter of product with a vacuum truck. This means that if there is a leak at the bottom ridge of the tank it will be missed by a sound based test method. Liquid makes no sound as it leaves or enters the tank. In fact our method does not require an expensive vacuum truck as a regular water draw will place the product level at 6 - 12 cm which is optimum for our test. This system is also used to test aboveground tanks up to 500 barrel's in capacity.
