Technology Overview: Suretest Testing System

One of the testing technologies offered by Tanknology Canada Inc. is the Suretest volumetric precision leak test. This method is ULC listed in Canada as a precision leak test as well as having an EPA third party certification in the United States. A volumetric test is ideal for testing tanks containing water, waste oils, motive fuels and chemicals. The Suretest system is fast and convenient and can be used at virtually any product level from 11% up to 95%.

The system is totally automated and controlled by the computer's sophisticated program. The probe is the most accurate volumetric method for measuring the outflow or inflow of any liquids within a tank. The probe can detect product loss or gain to an accuracy of .001 Litres per hour. The liquid level is measured to a resolution of one ten thousandth of an inch. Temperature sensors are spaced to tell the temperature at each level of product. The probes micro processor corrects for volume changes that are due to thermal expansion or contraction of the product. The process compensates for other known sources of error including tank deformation, water level, tank end deflection and evaporation.
